This product is the recombinant Staphylococcus aureus Cas9 nuclease purified from E.coli. The saCas9 nuclease has a shorter ORF comparing with spCas9. And it also can be used for gene editing by inducing double-strand breaks in genomic DNA. Combining with guide RNA, saCas9 targets to specific site of genome and leads to DNA breaks within 3 bases from the NGRRT/NGRRN PAM (Protospacer Adjacent Motif).
