Research Scientist, Cell based Screening
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the planning and execution of compound and functional genomic screening, using cellular techniques including: cellular viability and growth assays, HTRF/ELISA, FACS, CRISPR-Cas9 or si/shRNA and lentiviral techniques.
Develop and evaluate automation-compatible high-throughput biochemical and cell-based assays for compound and target validation.
Maintain multiple mammalian tissue culture cell lines in culture.
Act as company’s subject-matter expert for client-specific and internal project development troubleshooting-related inquiries.
Identify and solve problems associated with your own or others’ experiments or processes.
Prepare high-quality client-facing data packages and reports, clearly disseminating the results of that research to the team and relevant external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
A M.S. or Ph.D. degree in biological science or related field, 3+ years of experience in cell line engineering and assay development.
Experience in conducting technically challenging CRISPR editing projects.
Experience in conducting CRISPR screens (arrayed or pooled, CRISPR KO, CRISPRi or CRISPRa).
Extensive experience of cell culture and excellent aseptic technique.
Experience with transfection/electroporation and techniques to modulate gene expression in mammalian cell model systems e.g. CRISPR-Cas9, siRNA, shRNA etc.
Familiarity with the implementation/development of automation for cell line screening and/or the interpretation of next-generation sequencing data.
Flexibility, adaptability, independence and ability to work in a matrix-managed environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
